We cannot recommend Dr. Buttar and his clinic enough! We moved to the Richmond area in late 2018, after having some great vets in SF at the ASPCA on Fillmore (Dr. Knieper what’s up?!), and we were worried right away about coming to the East Bay and finding a veterinarian we could trust. But we found him right away! Dr. Buttar and his staff are responsive, respectful, and knowledgeable. We took our 6-year old cat to Dr. Buttar, as well as the new kitten we got about a year ago, and he helped us easily get rid of ear mites in the new kitten’s ears. Most recently, we took our 6-year old cat for a checkup, that went well, but Dr. Buttar suggested a deep teeth cleaning. Our Lucy had already lost two teeth; we decided to do it, albeit nervous, but it all turned out really well - not even one extraction! Anyway, we can’t recommend this vet enough.Travis Peterson

Dr Fernandez was so informative & compassionate when we brought in our very sick cat. Our regular Albany vet couldn’t see us for a month despite the emergency. The entire ECVC team was helpful and we felt listened to while sorting out a plan of care. Got meds, next appointment and other details handled efficiently.Kathy Gerwig

One of the best hospitals I've worked at Pros: Very close knit group. Understanding when outside of work events require time off. Makes use of 4 10hr shifts. Very generous employee discounts. Reimbursements for scrubs and licenses. Cons: I feel like the higher ups could be more accommodating to people with physical limitations as well as understanding how mental disabilities can impact a persons capacity at work. Advice to Management: Pursuing additional resources to provide better accessibility and accommodations for those with disabilities would be a wise investment.Current Employee – Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
